Holy Shekel in Pure (.9999) Gold

Gold Bar Kochva Shekel   Gold Bar Kochva Shekel Reproduction

This museum quality, hand minted reproduction of the Bar Kochva shekel is stunning. The hand cut dies were made with hand made tools, made the same way as the die cutting tools in ancient times. It is made from one half ounce of .9999 gold!! They are approximately 24 millimeters in diameter. No original Bar Kochva shekels were ever found made out of gold, so this item is unique, and is only available from us.

The silver original coins were made between the years 130-135 c.e., when the Jews rebelled against Rome in order to free the Jewish people, rebuild the Holy Temple, and reestablish the service of G-d.

On the obverse (right image) is the façade of the Holy Temple. On the reverse (left image) is a Lulav and Ethrog (palm branch and citron) used on the Feast of Tabernacles (Vayikra/ Leviticus 23:40) .

All of the Bar Kochva coins depict items related to the Holy Temple or other aspects of the worship of G-d.

Note that each coin blank is made by hand, and each coin is struck by hand. The shape may be irregular, and each coin is unique, just like the original ancient coins.

$800 plus $50 shipping, handling and insurance.
